In short

A VPS Argentina database server is a hybrid cloud server with exclusive CPU and memory —up to 8 cores and 32 GB of RAM— for MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL or SQL Server. Disks are in RAID 10 with a hot spare and it connects over a private network to your application VPS, in the same Buenos Aires datacenter.

What you get

The database, in memory

With 16 or 32 exclusive GB, the most-queried data lives in RAM and answers do not wait on the disk.

Private network to your apps

Your application VPS talk to the database over an internal network: the database is never exposed to the internet.

RAID 10 with hot spare

If a disk fails, the spare steps in on its own and the rebuild happens without interrupting service.

Data in Argentina

For systems storing personal data of Argentine customers, keeping it in a local datacenter makes things simpler.

Getting started

How we set it up

  1. We size the memory

Tell us how large the database is and how many queries it gets. The simple rule: the most-queried data should fit in RAM.

  2. We join the private network

We connect the server to your application VPS and each gets an internal IP.

  3. Restrict access

The database listens only on the internal network. In MySQL, for example:

    bind-address = 10.0.0.2

Questions

Database server questions

How much memory does my database need?

Ideally, the most-queried part fits in RAM. For databases up to about 10 GB an SH5, with 16 GB, is usually enough; for larger or busier ones, the SH6, with 32 GB.

Can I connect it to my VPS?

Yes. If they are in the same datacenter, we join them with a private network and each machine gets an internal IP. Let us know when ordering so we can place them together.

Do you manage the database?

No: your team manages the database, like the operating system. We help you get started and the platform watches the server with AI.

What happens if a disk fails?

Disks are in RAID 10 with a spare: if one fails, the spare steps in on its own and the server keeps running. Even so, keep your own database backups.
